Love- This theme tells the love between Armpit and Kaira. And how they went on a date. Armpit was going to kiss her but ended up not because of her body guard. However, a few days later he kissed her smack on the lips. She even wrote a song based on Armpit and his small steps. Love also sort of accured when Armpit asked Tatiana to the concert but then she ended up not going. Tatiana defintley like him.
Betrayal- This theme happens when El Genius tries to kill Kaira even though that he is her step- dad. He was getting a lot of money and stealing it from Kiara's profit. He was also cheating on Kaira's mom to get Aileen when she hated him. This is betrayal becauase El Genius was going against his family and wife to get a lot of money and take over Kaira.
Embarrassment- This theme is very clear when Kaira write Armpit a very lame letter to Armpit. She admitted that she liked touching his Armpit. She was so embarrassed she made Armpit tell her an embarrassing moment. He told her that she thought that his name was in one of her songs.

***** (Out of 5)
This love, betrayal, and funny book is a big hit. Armpit is an ordinary boy besides going to a juvinelle camp and Kaira is a famous pop-star. Two lives you never thought would come together. Armpit goes through a big adventure when his friend X-ray stops by. He is onto another one of his "get rich quick schemess." This plan definltey switches gears and Armpit goes through a huge adventure. Even meeting a famous pop- star named Kaira DeLein. Kaira lives and extrodinary life which sometimes she isn't so fond about. No friends, boyfriends, a private bus, and hanging around adults all day is not the fun life you think a star would have. Little does Armpit know another one of X-ray's lame schemes could be the biggest change of his life.
I enjoyed this book because I learned that everybody can change. I loved this book because so many parts in the book were surprising and you never thought that it would be possible. However, Louis Sachar fits it into the book so well and you are surprised when it comes up. I loved the book Holes and loved this book so much better. I enjoyed how Kaira and Armpit's lives were very different but in ways they connected taking small steps. I could relate to the characters in ways which helps me understand the book the book better. The book was very detailed and you could picture the characters and the setting in your mind. It was also very suspenseful and I did not want to put the book down! When every chapter ended I had no idea what was going to come wheather it was going to be terrible or very good. Louis Sachar writes this book very well with mysteries little pieces of evidence that leads to a big change.
I would definitely recommend this book to both boys and girls of grades five to seven. However, you should be sure to read the book carefully and you will understand it much better and get a lot more out of it. This is a good book for people who don't really like to read. You WILL NOT be able to put it down. If you love reading and at a higher reading level this book would also be good for you because you will be able to understand it well. Because of its connection and relationships that happen to kids each day. All in all, this is a terrific book and all readers from higher elementary grades to low middle school grades will love it.
